Essentials of PlantESP

Learn Best-Practices of PID Controller Tuning

Audience: This course is intended for anyone who has or is interested in having a license to PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring. These individuals, encompassing all technicians, operators, and administrators, are responsible for overseeing the maintenance and monitoring of their plant’s PID controller loops.

Prerequisites: Any plant staff responsible for regulatory control level performance. Basic control room experience whether as a technician, operator, or plant engineer is desired but not required.

Materials: To enhance and facilitate your learning experience, the following materials are provided as part of the course package:
Student Manual, which contains the: key concepts, definitions, classroom examples, and course slide deck.

Course Objective: A best-practices workshop targeting the needs of both application administrators and end-users. Content includes procedures for configuring the PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring application and for adjusting settings for control loops and their respective metrics. Participants build and configure PlantESP as well as use its diagnostic capabilities to uncover control issues and isolate the associated root-cause.

Using the provided software by Control Station, Inc., students have access to previously installed PCs with the most recent PlantESP software update. Students gain hands-on experience with the software through a variety of instructor-led exercises. At the end of the course, each student receives a temporary software license of PlantESP which can be used for 30 days after the course at no additional charge.
